Life & Community

Longpi traces its establishment to 1850, when it was founded by Tawnghen. Located in the Nungba Sub-Division, it is among the older Gangte settlements represented on Ganggam.com. With a history reaching back to the nineteenth century, the village carries the memory of an earlier period in Gangte settlement history. Generations of people have since lived, worked, and built their lives around the community. Longpi therefore represents more than a place on a map; it is a part of the collective history and heritage of the Gangte people.
