Gallon was established in 1925 by Thangkai and is situated in the Nungba Sub-Division. Its establishment marks another stage in the development of Gangte settlements during the twentieth century. From its early beginnings, the village became a home where successive generations could build their lives and maintain their connection with the Gangte community.
