GALKAPKOT VANGKHUO

Located in the Thanlon Sub-Division, Galkapkot was established in 1900 by Vompu. Its foundation at the beginning of the twentieth century marks an important point in the continuing development of Gangte settlements. The village has since been shaped by generations of residents, each contributing to its community life and identity. Its story reflects the broader history of Gangte settlement and the importance of villages as centres of family, tradition, and community. Galkapkot’s founding record is therefore an important piece of information for preserving the collective history of the Gangte people.
