Haran was established in 1970 and is located in the Nungba Sub-Division. Compared with some of the older settlements, Haran represents a more recent stage in the history of Gangte village formation. Its establishment demonstrates that the development of Gangte communities has continued well into the modern period. Since its foundation, generations of residents have helped establish their homes and community life in the village. Haran is therefore part of the evolving story of the Gangte people and an example of how new settlements have continued to emerge alongside older communities.
Every village carries stories, memories, traditions and people worth remembering. Together, we keep these stories alive.
