HIV/AIDS is infectious and there is currently no cure for AIDS, nor is it hopeful in the near future. When AIDS is untreated, death usually follows in 1 or 2 years. Now such a dreadful disease is very much prevalent in our society and we have but to accept the fact. What, then, is our Christian response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in our society? Are we to remain silent spectators to this human tragedy? Or are we going to stick on to our high ideals of moral living and condemning those who do not meet the deal? There is always a dichotomy between the ideal and the actual, and if these two are really bridged, and we are actually at the ideal, it is no more earth, it is heaven. (more…)
