Pu Demkhosiek Gangte need no introduction, he was born in Teikhang Village in Manipur on 1st June 1927. Knowing well the economic condition and the politics of identity of his community, he enrolled himself at an early age to the Indian Army on first September 1943, served as a soldier from 12Dec.1944 and obtained excellence certificate in shooting on 2nd February 1945. He also obtained First class army education certificate in 1949. He finally resigned from service on 2nd February 1955 for a greater cause to serve the causes of his own community people “The KUKI, CHIN and MIZO”. (more…)
